High-Efficiency Cooling Options: Heat Pump vs. Central AC
Whether you want to replace your dying central AC, upgrade from window air conditioners, or add cooling to your home for the first time, Total Home Performance can help. We install central air conditioners, ducted heat pumps, and ductless mini split heat pumps, and will recommend the best fit for your home and budget.
Central Air Conditioning
Central air conditioners deliver cool air throughout your entire home via a central air duct system. We offer energy efficient central AC installations for Maryland and Delaware homes. We typically recommend heat pumps over central air conditioners because they offer enhanced benefits, but every home is different and we will help you choose the best option for your specific home and preferences.
Ducted Heat Pumps
A ducted heat pump is similar to a central air conditioner with one major difference—heat pumps heat and cool. With a ducted heat pump, you get energy efficient, all-electric central heating and AC in one unit.
Ductless Mini Split Heat Pumps
Ductless heat pumps provide heating and cooling in one unit, just like a ducted heat pump. But ductless heat pumps work without air ducts. They deliver heat and AC directly into the rooms they're installed in, similar to a window AC. But they are significantly more energy efficient than window air conditioners. Plus, mini split heat pumps are permanent. You don't have to remove and store them in the winter just to haul them back out as soon as spring rolls around the way you do with a window air conditioner.
Maximize Savings with Cooling Rebates & Incentives
You can save on your heat pump or air conditioner installation with rebates and incentives. Total Home Performance is a participating contractor with local utility rebate programs and can help you take advantage of maximum savings. If you want to save as much as possible on your cooling system installation, install a heat pump. Heat pumps qualify for up to $15,000 in rebates.
